Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Model: Mazda 6 GG, MK 1 - Years 2002-2008

Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift or position it on suitable car ramps (it is recommended to carry out the oil and filter replacement when the engine is cold to avoid burns: the oil filter is located right next to the catalytic converter).
Then remove any undertray and locate the drain plug of the oil sump: position a container of suitable capacity (about 5 litres) under the plug and remove it with a 15 mm socket to allow the used oil to drain. Once the draining is complete, reapply the plug, tightening it adequately.
Then move the container under the exhaust manifold and remove the oil filter with the appropriate tool (or with a metal strap wrench). Then apply the new filter after coating the gasket with oil to improve its adherence and tighten it by hand.
At this point, fill the engine with new oil according to the SAE specifications and the quantities indicated in the user and maintenance manual.
Start the engine for a few minutes and then check the oil level using the dipstick.
