The I-Stop system by Mazda is nothing more than the so-called Start and Stop present in almost all recent cars. The purpose is well known, namely to reduce car emissions and save fuel.

The operating principle is very simple, in fact it comes into operation by turning off the engine when the car stops and the gear is in neutral. It will restart, always automatically, as soon as we engage the gear to start again.
