How to change the battery in the remote key for your Mazda 6? Follow these steps. Take your ignition remote and extract the metal key (as shown in the video).

Once the metal key is removed, take out the battery holder from inside (separate the two halves of the cover). Get a new battery of the same type and replace it inside the holder.

Reassemble the battery holder onto your remote by pressing it in until it clicks into place. Check that the key functions correctly by pressing the door unlock buttons.
