How to replace the key fob battery in a Mazda 6

To replace the battery of a Mazda 6 key fob, locate the release lever on the back of the key and activate it to extract the mechanical emergency key. Then locate the slot along the edge of the fob and insert a small flat screwdriver or a plastic lever. Gently twist the tool to separate the two halves of the shell without damaging the clips. Remove the internal battery cover, if present, then extract the button cell, paying attention to its polarity. Insert a new battery of the same type, generally CR2025 or CR2032 depending on the key version, respecting the mounting direction. Close the fob by pressing the two halves together until they click, reinsert the mechanical key, and check the operation of the buttons.
