Replacement of Water Pump

Model: Mazda Mpv LW - Years 1999-2006

In this vehicle, the water pump is driven by an auxiliary belt located on the right side of the engine (when viewed from the front). To facilitate removal, first remove the air filter housing; this operation must be done with the engine cold. Next, disconnect the clips securing the hoses to the pump: due to the position, a long pair of curved pliers or the appropriate cord tool is necessary. Once the hoses are free, unscrew the bolts securing the pump to the engine block and remove it. The new pump comes with new connecting hoses and the corresponding pulley: proceed in reverse for reassembly; if necessary, also replace the auxiliary belt.
