Replacement of the Rear Brake Caliper

Model: Mazda 6 GG, MK 1 - Years 2002-2008

Replace the brake caliper when you notice oil leaks or seized pistons. Consider having it serviced. Lift the vehicle on suitable car stands and remove the wheel. Disconnect the brake line and the handbrake cable. Unscrew the caliper mounting bolts to remove it (it is advisable to also replace the brake pads). Proceed to install the new caliper by first connecting the handbrake cable and then the brake line, also replacing the copper washers. Position the caliper on the bracket and tighten the mounting bolts. It may be useful to bleed the brake fluid.
