How to Change the Battery in a Mazda Key

When the key for a Mazda vehicle is low on battery, the vehicle alerts you through the instrument cluster indicating that the battery is nearly depleted. Here’s how to replace it yourself without needing assistance from the Dealer. The battery to replace is a CR2025, which you can easily obtain for a few pounds from a newsagent or any supermarket. You will also need a small flathead screwdriver. The first step is to slide out the physical key by pressing the button located on the back of the remote. In the gap created, apply force and open the casing of the key. Remove the battery cover, taking care with the seal, and take out the depleted battery. Place the new one in, ensuring the correct polarity, and close the cover. Reassemble the casing and reinsert the physical key. Job done.
