First, purchase an equivalent battery, then remove the emergency key by pressing the unlock button located at the back of the remote. Use a pointed object to pry off the cover of the remote and then remove the battery found underneath. Take the new battery and place it in its housing, ensuring the polarity is correct. Then replace the cover and reattach it, and insert the emergency key back.
