To disable the passenger airbag on a Mazda 3, open the glove compartment located on the passenger side: here you will find a lock at the top left of the compartment, where you need to insert the ignition key. Rotate the lock to switch it from ON to OFF: you will notice the corresponding message appear on the instrument panel, indicating that the airbag is disabled.

To reactivate it, simply reposition the lock to ON and close the glove compartment.
