How to disassemble the steering wheel airbag of the 2012 Mazda 3

Today we will explain how to disassemble the steering wheel airbag of the Mazda 3 MK2 model on your own. Before performing this simple operation, we recommend disconnecting the vehicle's battery to prevent the airbag from activating during removal and damaging the car and the person performing the procedure. We remove the plastic side covers of the steering wheel to access the screws. Using a socket wrench with a 10 mm insert, we unscrew the screws and remove the central body of the steering wheel. Disconnect the connector from the airbag to remove it from the steering wheel. The steps to assemble the airbag are the same but performed in reverse.
