How to replace the thermostat of a Mercedes E-Class?

Good morning, today we will be replacing the thermostat of our Mercedes E-Class. Let's start by opening the front engine hood. After that, we will need to drain the cooling system circuit by loosening the drain plug. Once that is done, we will need to remove and take out the alternator by unscrewing the mounting bolts, and then extracting it from its housing. By doing this, we will have reached the thermostat cover. Let's proceed by unscrewing the mounting bolts, and then disconnecting the various hoses and the electrical connector. At this point, we will need to remove the thermostat from the engine compartment, and we will have finished the disassembly. To install the new thermostat on our Mercedes E-Class, we will need to repeat this procedure in reverse, and we will have completed the replacement.
