How do you replace the timing chain of the Mercedes E-Class?
Model: Mercedes Classe E
W213
- Years 2016-2023
To replace the timing chain of the Mercedes E-Class, you need to loosen the screws that secure the front bumper to its housing: these are located at the bottom and top, as well as inside the wheel arches. You can then proceed by removing the components at the front of the engine compartment, such as the radiator, to locate the front part of the engine block. The chain can be removed by loosening the tensioner screws, so that the tension is reduced: by removing the old chain from its seat, you can insert the new one, checking that everything works properly.

What Could Cause the Smart Instrument Cluster to Show Three Lines
When the instrument cluster of the Smart shows three lines, it indicates that there are issues with the gearbox and it cannot engage; otherwise, an "N" would appear. To diagnose the problem, you need to obtain an OBDII reader, which can easily be found on any e-commerce platform for a few pounds. The most common cause of failure is damaged wiring from the controller to the gearbox engine connector. These wires may touch the intercooler housing, leading to abrasions, possibly a frayed wire. The video also shows wires touching each other, which can create issues; there may be a damaged sensor, or the problem could be with the gearbox motor. Often, it is the moisture that damages the wiring. by ScegliAuto More videos
