How do you reset the Service indicator light on the Mercedes C-Class?

On the instrument panel of the Mercedes C-Class, the Service light that is shown can be reset by turning on the instrument panel, so that it is possible to access the options in the menu: you will need to navigate using the buttons on the steering wheel, so that the maintenance light is identified. When this is displayed on the screen, you will need to press and hold the button on the left side of the panel: this will allow you to proceed and reset the light correctly. Turning off and on the instrument panel will allow you to verify that the reset has been completed.
