Remove the shift boot on a Mercedes A-Class. In this video, see how to do it: detach the boot frame from the plastic covering on the center console (using a plastic or metal trim tool). Once the boot frame is detached, remove the knob (pull it with both hands). For reassembly: install the knob on the shaft, then slide the shift cover (secure the knob) and lower the boot until the plastics of the boot snap over the center console. Test the proper installation of the previously mounted parts.
