In order to replace the Mercedes A-Class gear knob, you have to unhook the clips at the base of the knob's leather boot, so that it can be completely raised. After the leather boot has been lifted, it will be possible to unscrew the fixing ring underneath, so that the knob and the boot are not fixed to the gear lever. Then it will be possible to pull both parts so that they are completely detached and it will be possible to insert the new ones; after installation it will be possible to fix the parts again by screwing the ring and fitting the clips to the base of the cap.
