How to manually regenerate the DPF filter on the Mercedes Actros

Let's see how to start a manual regeneration of the DPF on a Mercedes Actros. When performing this operation, it is essential to maintain at least one meter of distance from other vehicles or flammable objects. The operation must be carried out in an open and well-ventilated area. The vehicle must be in perfect condition and have at least 1/4 of a tank. Start the engine and bring it to operating temperature, pull the handbrake, with the gear in (n), remove your foot from the accelerator and hold down the regeneration button for 3 seconds: An acoustic signal will confirm the start of the procedure, and a warning light will come on on the dashboard. The engine speed will automatically increase to raise the exhaust gas temperature. Do not touch the accelerator, do not release the handbrake, do not touch the gear, do not turn off the engine. When you hear the engine return to its normal speed, the warning light on the dashboard will turn off and you can turn off the vehicle normally.
