How to Replace the SAM Module on a Mercedes ML 320

Model: Mercedes Classe M W164 - Years 2005-2011

The SAM (Signal Acquisition Module) is the brain of a specific area of your Mercedes ML, controlling the electrical functions of that area. On a W164 like the one in the video, there are two: the front one located in the engine bay, managing the functions of the front area of the vehicle; it is housed in the fuse box near the windscreen. The rear one is located in the load compartment, on the left rear side: it manages all functions of the rear of the vehicle. To access the modules, always disconnect the car battery and wait at least 15 minutes to fully discharge the capacitors. Upon restarting after replacing a SAM module, it is likely that there will be stored errors and that some functions will need to be recalibrated and recoded.
