How to Solve the No-Start Issue Due to the AdBlue Light on a Mercedes E-Class W213

The no-start issue on the Mercedes E-Class W213 due to the AdBlue warning is caused by an engine control unit lock procedure. An electronic diagnosis is necessary using a specific diagnostic tool (Xentry, Star, Autel, Launch, Snap-on). Read all the fault codes stored in the control units (engine, SCR, AdBlue) without clearing them immediately. Check in real-time the parameters such as: AdBlue level indicated by the control unit, its temperature, the status of the pump and heater, as well as the values from the NOx sensors (upstream and downstream of the SCR). Often, the lock activates even when the tank is full; in these cases, a re-learning procedure for the AdBlue must be performed, after which the control unit requires a driving cycle to complete the tests and exit the lock state. Remember to use only fluid that is no more than a year old and of high quality: the AdBlue filter should be checked and replaced periodically, just like the injector.
