How to Replace the Brake Pad Wear Sensor in a Mercedes E-Class

To replace the brake pad wear sensor on a Mercedes E-Class, safely lift the vehicle and remove the affected wheel. The sensor is generally located in the inner brake pad and connected via a small wiring harness to the brake system control unit. After locating the connector, disconnect the old sensor from its mount and remove it from the brake pad. Next, install the new wear sensor in the new brake pad, ensuring it is correctly positioned in its slot. Then, connect the electrical connector and reinstall the wheel. After the job, check that the wiring is properly mounted, press the brake pedal several times to restore contact between the pads and the rotor, and verify that the wear warning on the dashboard is cleared. If the warning light remains on, you may need to reset the message via diagnostics.
