Replacing the damaged shift knob on a Mercedes C-Class, let's see how to remove it. Disconnect the leather boot from the center console, lift it, and remove the tightening screw under the knob. Pull the knob off the shift lever. For installation, take the new knob and slide it onto the lever on the center console (along with the boot). Install the leather boot over the lever and tighten the knob screw. Cover the new leather boot over the lever until it reaches the center console. Secure the trim over the center console. Verify the correct installation.
