Removing the gear indicator on a Mercedes E-Class? It's a very easy task, let's go through the disassembly. Position the gear shift knob vertically, then use a plastic pry tool to remove the trim around the center console. Remove the knob from the top of the shaft to take off the cover. Next, use a screwdriver to unscrew the fastening screws of the bezel that includes the gear indicator. Remove the gear indicator and disconnect the electrical connector. Install the new gear indicator onto the plastic trim and then onto the center console. Test the proper operation of the indicator once the installation is complete.
