How to Remove the Battery from a Mercedes S-Class

Model: Mercedes Classe S W221, MK 5 - Years 2005-2013

Before you can start, open the trunk of your Mercedes S-Class. Begin by unscrewing and removing the screws that secure the lower cover of the cargo area, then remove the cover itself. After that, remove all the retaining clips that hold the battery cover in place, and then take off the cover. This will give you access to the dead battery. Next, loosen the bolts that secure the two terminals connected to the battery, and then disconnect them. At this point, remove the bracket that holds the battery in place by unscrewing the corresponding bolts. Once you complete this step, you can remove the battery, and you will have finished the disassembly.
