Model: Mercedes Classe E
W124
- Years 1984-1995 The guide shows how to replace the starter cylinder on Mercedes Benz E-Class W124. The first operation to perform is to remove the protective plastic from the cylinder. With the key inserted and turned to the first position, remove the cylinder protection pawl. With the key always inserted and in the same position held up to now, insert a metal wire in the upper recess placed on the edge of the cylinder in order to disengage the assembly retaining spring. Once the piece is released, it can be removed by pulling it out. The assembly of the new cylinder is carried out by inserting the new piece and turning the key to the off position. Reinsert the key and turn it to the ignition position of the ignition. Insert the cylinder protection pawl and align it with the guides at the bottom of the housing. Turn off the ignition, remove the key and refit the protective plastic. Check the correct functioning of the piece until the engine starts.
