How to Replace the Climate Control Unit on the Mercedes M-Class?

To replace the climate control unit on the Mercedes M-Class, open the ashtray located directly under the climate control commands. After opening it, unscrew the two bolts underneath and remove the ashtray drawer, disconnecting the rear connector. This will allow you to lever from the inside and remove the plastic cover to which the control unit is connected: when both pieces are removed, you can detach the control unit from the cover. This can then be replaced, and all pieces can be reassembled in their place.
