Mercedes Slk - Video tutorial

Model: Mercedes Slk R170, MK 1 - Years 1997-2004
Part: Spark plugs
Operation: Spark plug replacement instructions

It is advisable to carry out this maintenance with a cold engine since you will have to handle particularly hot elements during regular engine operation. Remove the red plastic cover placed on the engine, disconnect the sockets from the ignition coils, unscrew the fixing screws of the coils themselves and extract them by pulling them upwards. At this, make sure that there are no impurities that can end up in the cylinders after removing the spark plug and proceed with the disassembly of the same. Then apply the new spark plugs without exceeding the tightening torque, reposition the pipettes, tighten the relative fixing screws and reconnect the sockets.
