Spark Plug Replacement Instructions

Model: Mercedes Slk R170, MK 1 - Years 1997-2004

It is recommended to carry out this maintenance with a cold engine as you will need to handle particularly hot components during normal engine operation. Remove the red plastic cover on the engine, disconnect the connectors from the ignition coils, unscrew the mounting screws of the coils and pull them upwards to remove. Ensure there are no impurities that could enter the cylinders after removing the spark plug and proceed with their removal. Then, fit the new spark plugs without exceeding the tightening torque, reposition the leads, tighten the respective mounting screws, and reconnect the connectors.
