Spark Plug Replacement Instructions

Model: Mercedes Slk R170, MK 1 - Years 1997-2004

It is advisable to carry out this maintenance with the engine cold. Open the bonnet and remove the red plastic cover on top of the engine; disconnect the connectors attached to the ignition coils, undo the respective securing screws, and extract the leads complete with coil from their positions on the right and left. Then, undo the old spark plugs and remove them from their seats; insert the new ones by hand until fully seated and then tighten them without exceeding the torque. Reattach the leads with the coils and the other leads, tightening the various screws while paying attention to their respective positions. Finally, refit the cover.
