Replacing the Auxiliary Belt Tensioner Dampener

The auxiliary belt tensioner has a pneumatic damping system, which means it is equipped with a small shock absorber (which is actually a gas spring) that helps reduce vibrations in the system. If it gets damaged, you can replace just the dampener available as a loose spare part, without having to buy the entire tensioner. Replacing it is very simple; just unscrew the mounting pins of the shock absorber (although the lower one is a bit harder to reach since it is located right behind the pulley: in any case, just unscrew it without removing it from its seat), remove it from its seat, and install the new one.
