How to Remove the Belt Tensioner on a Mercedes E-Class

Let's go through the removal and replacement of the timing belt tensioner on a Mercedes E-Class. Open the hood and secure it. Use a socket wrench to remove the timing belt cover; then, use a wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. With a socket wrench, unscrew the tensioner mounting bolt and remove it from the engine bay. Install the new part, the tensioner and the belt itself, and tighten everything with the socket wrench. Finally, reinstall the cover with the mounting bolts.
