Changing Your Car's Brake Pads

Model: Mercedes Clk W209, A209, C209 - Years 2002-2010

Brake pads wear out faster and therefore need to be replaced more often than brake discs. When worn, the pads have a lower contact surface with the disc, reducing braking efficiency. To change the pads, raise the vehicle on a support and remove the wheels from the axle in question, then disconnect the wear indicator wire connected to the vehicle if it has one. The wear indicator is a connecting wire from the pads to the vehicle's chassis. Take care to observe how the indicator wire is attached to ensure it is correctly positioned during reassembly.
