To replace the timing chain on a Mercedes E-Class, you need to remove the engine from its compartment. First, disconnect all hoses and connectors attached to the engine.

Once the engine is removed, loosen the nuts that secure the central pins of the sprockets around which the chain is located. By reducing the tension, you can then remove the chain and replace it with a new part.

After the replacement, reinstall all the removed components.
