To replace the timing chain on a Mercedes E-Class, open the hood and remove the cover located at the rear of the engine block, as the chain is located underneath it. It must be broken at one point using a chain cutter so that it can be completely removed from the sprockets. At this point, you can insert the new chain around the sprockets, aligning the camshaft and crankshaft. Then, reconnect the chain by inserting the appropriate pin and covering it with the designated cover.
