To replace the radio in a Mercedes E-Class, you must first detach the panels located under the radio, starting with the one that surrounds the gear shift in the center console. Once this cover is removed, open the ashtray and loosen the screws underneath to remove it. This will allow you to detach the covers surrounding the radio by loosening their screws. Now the device will be free and can be extracted from its housing by disconnecting the connectors at the back. Finally, you can install a new radio by reassembling all the removed components.
