Installing LED Cabin Lights

Model: Mercedes Sl MK 5, R129 - Years 1989-2001

To install an LED bulb to backlight the headlight switch knob, proceed as follows: first, detach the knob by turning it all the way to the right and pulling it outward; just behind the knob is a ring (a large thin nut) that secures the entire knob assembly and must be unscrewed to remove the assembly from the dashboard; behind the assembly is the bulb holder that must be detached to extract the old incandescent bulb and insert the LED one; ensure the new bulb lights up (reverse polarity if necessary) and reassemble everything.
