Fixing Console Lighting

Model: Mercedes Sl MK 5, R129 - Years 1989-2001

If the central console does not light up evenly when the lights are turned on, it is likely that a backlight bulb has burned out. In this case, the issue involves the control knobs for opening/closing the central air vents. Pry on the edge of the trim covering the knobs to detach it and access the bulb holder. You will notice that one LED is functioning perfectly while the other is broken. Replacing the LED is not a straightforward task; however, you can mitigate this issue by applying reflective paper inside the trim so that the functioning LED illuminates the entire area.
