How to Remove the Radio and Center Console of the Mercedes R129

Let's see how to remove the radio from the center console of this Mercedes R129: insert the special keys into the designated holes to allow the radio to come out of its housing. Once a sufficient part of the radio is out, you can easily pull it out by hand. Disconnect all the electrical connectors behind it. Put one hand inside the compartment and push the climate control unit from the back towards the front. Again, disconnect all the connectors. Now remove the lower compartment where the ashtray is located. You will need to remove a few screws; then remove the mounting bolts through the panel openings. Now you can pull the wooden console towards you, which is freed from the bolts; but remove all remaining connectors.
