Instructions for Removing the Steering Wheel

Model: Mercedes Classe C W202 - Years 1993-2000

To remove the steering wheel, you first need to take out the airbag: behind the spokes of the steering wheel, there are holes through which you can insert a Torx key and unscrew the airbag mounting screws; once the screws are loosened, pull the airbag away from the steering wheel enough to disconnect the airbag connector (releasing the locking tab) and the horn connectors; at this point, unscrew the steering wheel mounting bolt, check the alignment notches to ensure the wheels are straight, and pull the steering wheel off, being careful of the underlying wiring.
