To install a new car radio, you must first remove the factory unit: before disconnecting it, ensure you have the security code, which is essential for reactivation. Detach the trim around the radio and climate control by disconnecting the parking indicator plug; then unscrew the radio's mounting screws by removing the glove compartment and pull the radio out of its slot, disconnecting the relevant plugs; use the adapter wiring to connect the new radio and take power from the cigarette lighter to allow the radio to turn off automatically when the ignition key is removed; secure the radio in its place and reattach the trim.
