If the instrument cluster of your Mercedes A-Class shows the message "battery anomaly", it is normal to think that it refers to the 12-volt starter battery. In fact, many distracted mechanics, or those who do not have all the necessary knowledge about Mercedes vehicles, simply replace the starter battery. Unfortunately, the problem is not always this, because these cars have an auxiliary battery that manages the electronics of the entire vehicle (which is quite extensive), and the warning light indicates issues with this battery as well. The auxiliary battery is located in the front passenger footwell, under the mats and carpet, right beneath the glove compartment.
