Modern vehicles, or those of high prestige like the Mercedes SLK, are equipped with an auxiliary battery, which is used to control and keep active all the electronic components - which are numerous and consume a lot of energy - so as not to burden the 12V starter battery, common to all vehicles with internal combustion or hybrid engines. Specifically, this is located in the passenger compartment, under the rear seat, just behind the driver's seat. In a compartment that opens by lifting the seat upholstery (which is not exactly an operation within everyone's reach), you can find the auxiliary battery.
