- Years 2009-2016 On this model of car from the German manufacturer, there are three fuse boxes. The first is located in the engine compartment on the left side, the second is located in the passenger compartment on the left side near the driver's door, and the third is located in the trunk on the left side. The fuses for the cigarette lighter socket on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class are fuse number 71 (front interior socket, front cigarette lighter), fuse number 72 (charging area socket) in the fuse box in the trunk, and fuse number 9 (glove compartment lid) in the engine compartment fuse box.
