Replacing the Sun Visor Support Cap

Model: Mercedes Sl MK 5, R129 - Years 1989-2001
Part: Convertible top

If the cap that serves as a cover for the sun visor support breaks, you can easily replace it: remove what remains of the old cap to access the underlying support, and unscrew the two fastening screws to remove the sun visor from its mount. At this point, detach the retaining ring that holds the support in place, remove the support itself, and then the cap. Insert the new one, reposition the support, and secure it with the retaining ring. Then, reverse the process by securing the sun visor with the two screws and finally attach the new cap to cover both the support and the screws.
