How to Replace the Shift Knob on a Mercedes C-Class?

To replace the shift knob on a Mercedes C-Class, use a tool to pry off the leather cover from the clips located at the base of the center console. Once the cover is fully lifted, remove the retaining ring at the base of the knob. By loosening this, you can completely detach the knob and the shift boot from their housing. This will allow you to install the new replacement parts, securing them with the ring and attaching the clips back to the base of the center console.
