Rear Shock Absorber Replacement for Mercedes A-Class

Replacing the rear shock absorbers is significantly easier than the front ones since the spring and shock are not co-axial; lift the vehicle and remove the rear wheel for better maneuvering space. Place a jack under the suspension and remove the lower shock mount bolt. Lower the vehicle to access the trunk, remove the carpet lining to reach the support mount, and take it out to remove the old shock absorber and insert the new one, securing the upper mount immediately. Raise the vehicle again and use the jack to bring the suspension close to the shock mount to insert and tighten the corresponding mounting bolt.
