Where is the auxiliary battery located in the Mercedes E-Class?

In the Mercedes E-Class, the auxiliary battery is located inside the cabin: to access it, open the driver's door and remove the left side panel of the dashboard. Once this is removed, you can locate the underlying battery, which must be taken out from its housing by loosening the mounting screws; when the screws are loosened, you can also disconnect the cables connected to the battery so that it can be removed from its compartment. Then, you can insert the new one into its place, covering it with the appropriate panel.
