How to Replace the Thermostat on a Mercedes Benz A-Class W168

This guide shows how to replace the thermostat on a Mercedes Benz A-Class W168. The component to be replaced is located at the rear of the engine on the right side of the engine bay. First, position a container under the vehicle to catch any leaks during the operation. Disconnect the two water hoses by releasing the two spring clips and the electrical control connector. Remove the three bolts securing the thermostat and extract the part. Clean the contact surface of the thermostat with the engine thoroughly before installing the new component. Tighten the three nuts and reconnect the two hoses and the control cable.
