What to do if the pump no longer opens the roof of the Mercedes SLK

In this video we see what the reason is for the hood of a Mercedes SLK not working anymore: the reason is the pump, so we need to get some power steering or automatic transmission oil. On the right side of the trunk we will find a small door, where the pump is located from which the tubes that go to the pistons that move the hood start. We see that the oil level is much lower than the minimum. With a 5mm hex key we unscrew the refill cap at the bottom, but first we need to loosen the two screws that we see in front to release the pressure of the pump. The space is tight, but we use a small pump to top up the oil. We continue until we reach the maximum level. To put the cap back on we use a trick: we put some cotton on the screw head, so we don't lose it, and we reposition it together with its copper washer. Now we can test the hood opening, which works perfectly. Another problem is the oil leaking from the piston that moves the hood: the solution is to overhaul the piston. In fact, the oil level has already decreased while using the hood.
