How do you replace the door lock of the Mercedes C-Class?

In order to replace the door lock of the Mercedes C-Class, you need to loosen the screws that secure the panel to its housing: these screws will be located under the handrail and at the bottom of the panel itself. Once the screws have been loosened, you can completely detach the panel from its housing and access the underlying components: now you can insert the new lock mechanism after the old one has been released from the screws and connectors. At this point, you can cover everything again with the panel, making sure that everything works.
