To remove the ignition switch on a Mercedes-Benz C-Class, loosen the screws located at the back of the device. This will allow you to extract the airbag from the center of the steering wheel by disconnecting its connectors at the back.

Once the airbag is removed, proceed to loosen the central nut of the steering wheel, completely removing it to gain access to the ignition switch. The ignition switch can now be pulled out from its housing by disconnecting the rear connectors and replacing it with a new part.
