How to Remove the Handbrake Lever of a Mini

Model: Mini Mini R52, R50, R53 - Years 2001-2007

In this video, learn how to remove the handbrake lever of a Mini. Use a screwdriver to remove the trim around the gear lever, then take off the lever cap. Once the piece is removed, take off the gaiter using a plastic lever. As soon as the handbrake lever is free from the gaiter, adjust the handbrake lever if necessary. Finally, reassemble all the attached parts onto the metal lever: plastic grip, grip cover cap, leather gaiter cover, and the trim frame of the centre tunnel. Lastly, check the correct assembly of the aforementioned parts.

Open the compartment and push the two side parts to release the latch, allowing you to remove it completely. This will enable you to push the clips that secure the filter cover.
