How to replace the fog light bulbs on the Mini Cooper R50

Model: Mini Mini R53, R50, R52 - Years 2001-2007
Part: Fog lights

In this video, we will see how to replace the fog light bulbs of a Mini Cooper R50: we will easily access them from the wheel arch, where there is a cap specifically for this purpose. Simply rotate it to the left and it will open. Put your hand inside and find the bulb holder to rotate counterclockwise, then pull out the bulb (note that the operation would have been much easier by turning the wheel to one side). In this case, the bulb is replaced with an LED: make sure first that your vehicle can mount these devices to avoid fines: you will find indications in the user manual. To put the bulb back in place, simply rotate it clockwise and then reposition it in its housing and close the cap. Repeat the operation for the other headlight and you will have completed your task.

To carry out this operation, you will need to release the bonnet from the appropriate lever to lift it and secure it with the prop rod. Disconnect the battery terminals to protect any more delicate circuits, then proceed to unscrew all the bolts securing the bumper and the headlights themselves, as there are additional bolts behind the bumper to remove. Disconnect the connectors at the back of each headlight to extract it, and in this way, you can install the new headlight. Reverse the steps described for reassembling the various components.
